Endless Miles of Upland Hunting

Many consider the Ruffed Grouse as the KING of all game birds.

Cool crisp mornings, the changing colors of the leaves and dogs afield signifies the beginning of a time honored tradition, bird season in Maine. We are located in the heart of the two and a half million acre Mattawamkeag Wilderness. With countless miles of abandoned logging roads, 5 -15 year old tree growth, and long forgotten farm lands, this is surely his domain. Strong resident woodcock populations occupy our low lands and river valleys as well. When the large numbers of flight birds start from the Maritimes, our area is one of their first stops. Serious upland hunters know that this makes Northern Maine a mecca for upland hunting and a bird hunters paradise.
